Flora

I do have a hobby, damnit! Tyler bugs me all the time - you need to get a hobby, you need to start doing something. Then he looked at the plants all over the house. I guess you do have a hobby. Uh, yeah!

Back in CA, I was inspired.

A little curiousity shop tucked away in the Mission. Flora and fauna and natural artifacts. I've been trying to find a good way to experiment with these little wonders ever since.

A few years later, I am finally working on this project! Found bags of shells at Christmas Tree Shoppes for $8 each! Must be 5lbs of shells in each bag! While I cant use them all, most of them are perfect vessels for my little creatures.

They even hang! Tyler is quite brilliant when it comes to solving problems. You'd never know there's a little button inside there keeping everything together on a string.

Felt a little primitave gutting this little sea star

One of the greatest compliments Tyler has given me in our lifetime is saying how professional they all looked and how impressed he was in the outcome. Thank you!!!

We had big plans to snowshoe to Lonesome Hut. Got up early in the morning and Tyler said what was on both of our minds. We were tired, it was cold out, it was a 4 hour round trip (3h hiking, 1h resting and looking at lake from hut) and then we had 2.5 hours home. So so long. We checked out and got yummy homemade apple walnut cranberry tons of brown sugar muffins from HH Inn. We drove through Bethlehem, NH where nothing was open, we took pictures of the mountains. We started to head home. And then got intrigued by The Basin. What's The Basin? I don't know. Want to pull over? Yea, I do.
So we took a little hike. Actually, we found out we could have done Lonesome Hut from here, but it was 2.5 mi each way. Not even going to try. We did find a nice .5 hike to the Falls and back. Yeah, I can do that!

I've been inspired to take a tracking and orienteering class.
I'm making Tyler take them too. He gets lost very easily.

Tyler was not excited that I took pictures of pinecones so phone battery went before I could take photos of actual Basin.

Do you see our little friend hiding in the snow?

Phone home

My phone has been lost for like 3 weeks now. I've come undone. I am not constantly checking it at all hours. I am on my laptop all the time, but no more checking FB and Twitter right before turning out the light and going to bed. No checking work email on the way to work. It's been liberating at times, and also making me anxious! And of course, I have no camera phone, which is my picture taking lifeline. We have a digital camera, but it's such a pain. I have to find the cord, make sure the battery is charged, keep it plugged in while it uploads and inevitably falls into the couch cushions or gets detached or jostled. Then if my computer could ever find the pictures! So I have to Google and find an alternative way to find them, because I can't find the folder on my Mac (one complaint I have about Mac - no folder I can go to for all my external drives - Pictures, Flash Drive, BB, etc.). So I CANNOT wait for my new phone to come. So many instances in the past few weeks where I've passed up taking a picture. Frustrating.
