Flora

I do have a hobby, damnit! Tyler bugs me all the time - you need to get a hobby, you need to start doing something. Then he looked at the plants all over the house. I guess you do have a hobby. Uh, yeah!

Back in CA, I was inspired.

A little curiousity shop tucked away in the Mission. Flora and fauna and natural artifacts. I've been trying to find a good way to experiment with these little wonders ever since.

A few years later, I am finally working on this project! Found bags of shells at Christmas Tree Shoppes for $8 each! Must be 5lbs of shells in each bag! While I cant use them all, most of them are perfect vessels for my little creatures.

They even hang! Tyler is quite brilliant when it comes to solving problems. You'd never know there's a little button inside there keeping everything together on a string.

Felt a little primitave gutting this little sea star

One of the greatest compliments Tyler has given me in our lifetime is saying how professional they all looked and how impressed he was in the outcome. Thank you!!!

GRONK!

So GRONK is our new adjective of choice. NO duh, doh, UGH, MF, effing, etc.
GRONK seems to express it all.
I totally messed up my project that I was so freakin' proud of. I took a pretty and simple frame, pulled out all the old rusty nails, scraped off the curling paper backing, cut some mesh, found some short nails, and went to business.

ANd I got this:

I spy a big GROOOONNNNKKK. So, fixed project to come. With more details and less eff-ups.

Vase Project - Part One

Been seeing these super expensive dipped in gold paint vases lately. I love spray paint and tape and vases. So I'm making my own version.

Three vases from GoodWill: $6.00
Painters Art Tape, various sizes: Art store.Various prices.
Spray paint - $3? depends on color and finish

Project Night

A while back I got a rediculously cheap price on a cardboard put together Unicorn. Remember when you were a kid and you put together dinosaurs out of balsa wood cut outs, so it looked like a replica skeleton? Well, this one looks like a Unicorn trophy head.

I was supposed to give it to Tyler for his birthday, but forgot. And last night remembered it was in the closet and asked if he wanted it now, or for me to wait till Christmas. Of course he wanted it now. What is it? Oh, one of my crazy gifts that I dont know if you will like or not. But it's OK, it only cost $5 (down from $34 originally!). So much did he LIKE it, we had to put it together right then! We were already in bed for crazy sakes. But we made a fun project of it. And we're good helpers to each other. You know if we have kids, I dont know if we'd let them play with our toys!
