Flora

I do have a hobby, damnit! Tyler bugs me all the time - you need to get a hobby, you need to start doing something. Then he looked at the plants all over the house. I guess you do have a hobby. Uh, yeah!

Back in CA, I was inspired.

A little curiousity shop tucked away in the Mission. Flora and fauna and natural artifacts. I've been trying to find a good way to experiment with these little wonders ever since.

A few years later, I am finally working on this project! Found bags of shells at Christmas Tree Shoppes for $8 each! Must be 5lbs of shells in each bag! While I cant use them all, most of them are perfect vessels for my little creatures.

They even hang! Tyler is quite brilliant when it comes to solving problems. You'd never know there's a little button inside there keeping everything together on a string.

Felt a little primitave gutting this little sea star

One of the greatest compliments Tyler has given me in our lifetime is saying how professional they all looked and how impressed he was in the outcome. Thank you!!!

Coming home. Over 400mi drive.

Our walk tired us out just enough. We drove the second leg of our trip to Tyler's folks house for a surprise visit. They were delighted, and so were we. Saw the folks, and saw Tyler's Dad and friend off to snowmobiling adventure. Fixed the computer, had a great chat, and cleaned out the fridge! It's no different at your house is it?

Then drove home and had leftovers. Passed out on the couch. Over 400 mi driven in 24 hours! Got a lot accomplished, dont you think?

This is how Tyler does leftovers in our house:
Homemade pita, hummus, and all the fixings. Nice dinner after short long weekend!

We had big plans to snowshoe to Lonesome Hut. Got up early in the morning and Tyler said what was on both of our minds. We were tired, it was cold out, it was a 4 hour round trip (3h hiking, 1h resting and looking at lake from hut) and then we had 2.5 hours home. So so long. We checked out and got yummy homemade apple walnut cranberry tons of brown sugar muffins from HH Inn. We drove through Bethlehem, NH where nothing was open, we took pictures of the mountains. We started to head home. And then got intrigued by The Basin. What's The Basin? I don't know. Want to pull over? Yea, I do.
So we took a little hike. Actually, we found out we could have done Lonesome Hut from here, but it was 2.5 mi each way. Not even going to try. We did find a nice .5 hike to the Falls and back. Yeah, I can do that!

I've been inspired to take a tracking and orienteering class.
I'm making Tyler take them too. He gets lost very easily.

Tyler was not excited that I took pictures of pinecones so phone battery went before I could take photos of actual Basin.

Do you see our little friend hiding in the snow?

Mountain Road

I'd love to be a Mountain Mamma. For now, I just pretend through the window of the car.
