Things we've been drinking
We (I) first found Clementine at a bar in Chicago - Pippin's, pretty sure. Nicer dive-y place with great hotdogs and even better beer. I was really upset as I learned with each bar we went to that Chicago microbrews had such limited ability to export to other states, if they could manage to distribute at all. Really sad that I would possibly never have clementine again unless back in Windy City. Massachusetts is so weird about distribution and it's hard for small mid-west shops to distribute anyway with all big brewery conglomerates around. Well wouldn't you know. Clown Shoes is made in Massachusetts! Happy Day! Now, can someone tell me how I can get Great Lakes Eliot Ness to the Commonwealth?

Subway Flower Day!
Whenever I get lucky enough to get the car on a weekday, I also know I'm getting lucky in flowers. Tyler takes the subway when I get the car, and I get the car and subway flowers! They are always beautiful, last so long, and guess what? I bet you cant guess how much these 12 roses cost. Just take a guess and meet me at the bottom of this post.
$6, dudes!

Flora
I do have a hobby, damnit! Tyler bugs me all the time - you need to get a hobby, you need to start doing something. Then he looked at the plants all over the house. I guess you do have a hobby. Uh, yeah!
Back in CA, I was inspired.
A little curiousity shop tucked away in the Mission. Flora and fauna and natural artifacts. I've been trying to find a good way to experiment with these little wonders ever since.
A few years later, I am finally working on this project! Found bags of shells at Christmas Tree Shoppes for $8 each! Must be 5lbs of shells in each bag! While I cant use them all, most of them are perfect vessels for my little creatures.
They even hang! Tyler is quite brilliant when it comes to solving problems. You'd never know there's a little button inside there keeping everything together on a string.
Felt a little primitave gutting this little sea star
One of the greatest compliments Tyler has given me in our lifetime is saying how professional they all looked and how impressed he was in the outcome. Thank you!!!

Coming home. Over 400mi drive.
Our walk tired us out just enough. We drove the second leg of our trip to Tyler's folks house for a surprise visit. They were delighted, and so were we. Saw the folks, and saw Tyler's Dad and friend off to snowmobiling adventure. Fixed the computer, had a great chat, and cleaned out the fridge! It's no different at your house is it?
Then drove home and had leftovers. Passed out on the couch. Over 400 mi driven in 24 hours! Got a lot accomplished, dont you think?
This is how Tyler does leftovers in our house:
Homemade pita, hummus, and all the fixings. Nice dinner after short long weekend!

Lupercalia
So each Valentines Day I hark back to my high school Latin days, and while 3 years didn't really help with my SAT scores, it did help me with the Readers Digest vocabulary quiz (which by the way, make it difficult again! I need to put my word origins to use!). Anyway, I DO remember the holidays, Lupercalia in particular, and I know VDay is about men running around town slapping ladies with goat skin so they have a better chance of getting knocked up. (Ms. Lambert would be so proud of my modern day vernacularly correct explanation of Roman yore.)
Here's to not needing to go there and a whole lotta love at the same time!
And My Love still likes to make a big show with sending 24 ruby reds to the office. Um, yes I brought them all home and didn't share! Plus, the purchase of these flowers serve dual purpose as the cost is donated to a local radio station we love, NPR/WBUR. But enough about that, on to the flower show! Thank you, HB!

Valentines
Tyler said let's go out to dinner for Valentines. And then when we got home he said good call for going out tonight! i had to remind him that it was his idea!
Went to our favorite romantic place - Sabur. It's never busy, the bar is sooo cozy. Great service, wonderful pinot noir that we both are in love with, and 5 courses for under $120. And, the food is amazing. We got two deserts each!
